What you need
- An LG Smart TV running webOS (most models from 2016 onward)
- TV software up to date (Settings → General → About This TV → Check for updates)
- Your Sonix account or trial details and, for MAC-activated players, the TV’s device ID shown in the app
Recommended player apps
These players are made by independent developers and are not affiliated with Sonix. Pick one — you only need one.
Install the player
- 1Press Home and open Apps (LG Content Store).
- 2Search for your chosen player and select Install.
- 3Open the player and note the MAC address or device ID it displays, if any.
- 4Complete any player activation on the developer’s official site. Player licences are sold by the app developer, not by Sonix.
Sign in with your Sonix details
Your account or trial email contains everything you need. Keep it open on your phone while you type.
- 1Players with on-screen login: choose Xtream Codes and enter the server URL, username and password.
- 2Portal-based players: add your Sonix M3U link or Xtream details on the developer’s website using the device ID shown on your TV, then restart the app.
Supported login methods
Xtream Codes API
Server URL, username and password. Loads live TV, movies, series and the program guide in one step.
M3U playlist URL
A single playlist link. Widely supported; the program guide (EPG) is usually added as a separate XMLTV link.
Portal / MAC address
Your device’s MAC address is registered on our side, then you enter the portal URL we provide.
Your account details tell you which method to use. If you’re unsure, ask support.
Set up the TV guide (EPG)
- With an Xtream Codes login, the program guide normally loads automatically — open the TV Guide or EPG view after the first sync.
- With an M3U login, add the EPG (XMLTV) link from your account details in the app’s EPG or TV Guide settings, if your plan provides one.
- If guide data is missing, set the app’s time zone to your local zone and refresh the EPG. Guide data can take several minutes to download on first use.
Common problems on LG TV
Sound but no picture on some channels
Some webOS players handle certain stream formats poorly. Try the player’s alternative video decoder setting or a different player.
TV can’t find the app
The LG Content Store varies by region and model year. Consider a Fire TV or Google TV device as an alternative.
